AB65,1,2 1An Act to create 118.07 (3) of the statutes; relating to: the size of pole vault
2landing pads used by public school pupils.

Under current rules adopted by the National Federation of State High School
Associations (and adhered to by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association),
pole vault landing pads must be at least 16 feet wide and 12 feet deep. This bill
requires that, effective July 1, 1997, pole vault landing pads used by public school
pupils must be at least 21 feet 6 inches wide and 24 feet deep.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB65, s. 1 3Section 1. 118.07 (3) of the statutes is created to read:
AB65,1,54 118.07 (3) Each school board shall ensure that the pole vault landing pads used
5by public school pupils are at least 21 feet 6 inches wide and 24 feet deep.
AB65, s. 2 6Section 2. Effective date.
AB65,1,7 7(1) This act takes effect on July 1, 1997.
