AJR11,1,32 Whereas, Jerry Wing was born in Appleton on June 21, 1923, and died in
3Naples, Florida, on July 18, 1994; and
AJR11,1,44 Whereas, he served in the Air Force during World War II, and
AJR11,1,55 Whereas, he was a founding partner of the W.B. Bottle Supply Company; and
AJR11,1,86 Whereas, Mr. Wing was elected to the assembly in 1968 and served diligently
7on the Commerce and Manufactures Committee, the Conservation Committee, the
8State Affairs Committee and the Legislative Programs Study Committee; and
AJR11,1,119 Whereas, Mr. Wing was described by the Green Bay Press Gazette in 1970 as
10the "most determined individualist in the Wisconsin Legislature" after he left the
11Republican party and became an Independent; and
AJR11,1,1312 Whereas, Mr. Wing followed his principles, seeking reelection in 1970 as an
13Independent and losing eventually to Democrat James A. Rutkowski; and

1Whereas, Mr. Wing traveled widely after he left the legislature and remained
2very active as President of W. B. Bottle Supply Co. until his retirement in 1988; now,
3therefore, be it
AJR11,2,7 4Resolved by the assembly, the Senate concurring, That the members of
5the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend the life and public service of Jerry
6Wing, express their sorrow at his death and extend their condolences to his family
7and friends; and, be it further
AJR11,2,9 8Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
9resolution to Mr. Wing's sons; John, Joseph and Daniel.
