January 24, 1995 - Introduced by Senators Rude, Leean and Schultz, cosponsored
by Representatives Freese, Jensen and Brandemuehl.Referred to Joint
committee on Finance.
SB40,1,2 1An Act to repeal 44.20 (1m); and to amend 44.02 (5) of the statutes; relating
2to:
fees for admission to historic sites.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law establishes a schedule of fees to be collected by the state historical
society for admission to the following historic sites: Old World Wisconsin, Madeline
Island, Pendarvis, Stonefield Village, Villa Louis and Old Wade House. The
historical society is prohibited from collecting any group child admission fee for
admission to any historic site owned and operated by the historical society.
This bill eliminates the specific schedule of fees and the prohibition on group
child admission fees. The bill permits the historical society to establish and collect
a fee for admission to these historic sites.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
