AB199,1,2 1An Act to amend 814.70 (9) (a) (intro.) of the statutes; relating to: increasing
2the fee that a sheriff receives in connection with the sale of real estate.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a sheriff receives a fee of $50 for all of his or her activities
related to the sale of real estate by the sheriff under a judgment or order of a court.
Twenty-five dollars of the $50 must be prepaid to the sheriff and is nonrefundable.
This bill changes the sheriff's fee for all activities related to the sale of real
estate under a court judgment or order to 1% of the total sale price. One hundred
dollars of the fee must be prepaid and is nonrefundable.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB199, s. 1 3Section 1. 814.70 (9) (a) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB199,2,24 814.70 (9) (a) (intro.) A fee of $50 1% of the total sale price, of which $25 $100
5shall be prepaid and nonrefundable, for all necessary activities of the sheriff in
6connection with the sale of real estate by the sheriff or other officers, under any

1judgment or order of court, and making all the necessary papers and notices,
2including but not limited to:
