AB715,1,2 1An Act to create 118.325 of the statutes; relating to: authorizing the search of
2a pupil's locker.

This bill authorizes a school official, employe or agent to search a pupil's locker
without the consent of the pupil, without notifying the pupil and without obtaining
a search warrant if the school board has adopted a written policy specifying that the
school board retains ownership and possessory control of all pupil lockers and
designating the positions of the officials, employes or agents who may conduct
searches, and has distributed a copy of the policy to pupils enrolled in the school
district.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB715, s. 1 3Section 1. 118.325 of the statutes is created to read:
AB715,2,3 4118.325 Locker searches. An official, employe or agent of a school or school
5district may search a pupil's locker as determined necessary or appropriate without
6the consent of the pupil, without notifying the pupil and without obtaining a search
7warrant if the school board has adopted a written policy specifying that the school

1board retains ownership and possessory control of all pupil lockers and designating
2the positions of the officials, employes or agents who may conduct searches, and has
3distributed a copy of the policy to pupils enrolled in the school district.
