AB802,1,3 1An Act to create 341.05 (25) of the statutes; relating to: exempting wood
2harvesting slashers from vehicle registration and granting rule-making

Under current law, certain vehicles that are operated upon the highways of this
state are not required to be registered. These vehicles include implements of
husbandry and certain farm tractors.
This bill exempts from vehicle registration wood harvesting slashers that are
used principally off the highways of this state. The bill requires the department of
transportation to define "wood harvesting slasher" by rule, and to submit the
proposed definition within 5 months after this bill becomes law.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB802, s. 1 4Section 1. 341.05 (25) of the statutes is created to read:
AB802,1,65 341.05 (25) Is a wood harvesting slasher, as defined by the department by rule,
6that is used principally off the highway.

1Section 2. Nonstatutory provisions.
AB802,2,6 2(1) The department of transportation shall submit in proposed form a rule
3defining "wood harvesting slasher" for purposes of section 341.05 (25) of the statutes,
4as affected by this act, to the legislative council staff under section 227.15 (1) of the
5statutes no later than the first day of the 4th month beginning after the effective date
6of this subsection.
