AB897,1,2 1An Act to create 118.19 (13) of the statutes; relating to: requiring instruction
2in parental involvement for an initial teaching license.

This bill provides that, beginning July 1, 2001, the state superintendent of
public instruction may not issue an initial teaching license unless the applicant has
received instruction in how to encourage and promote the involvement of parents in
their childrens' education.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB897, s. 1 3Section 1. 118.19 (13) of the statutes is created to read:
AB897,1,64 118.19 (13) Beginning July 1, 2001, the state superintendent may not issue an
5initial teaching license unless the applicant has received instruction in how to
6encourage and promote the involvement of parents in their childrens' education.
