AJR16,1,2 Relating to: commending the Green Bay Packers' organization, team and fans for their accomplishments during the past season, playoffs and Super Bowl.

AJR16,1,3 Whereas, the Green Bay Packers are the Super Bowl Champions; and

AJR16,1,5 Whereas, Packer backers from Wisconsin and across the globe are recognized as the greatest fans in the world; and

AJR16,1,7 Whereas, Bob Harlan is the dignified and esteemed president of the most unusual franchise in all of professional sports; and

AJR16,1,9 Whereas, Ron Wolfe, as general manager of the Packers, has skillfully assembled a team of talented players and upstanding citizens; and

AJR16,1,12 Whereas, Coach Mike Holmgren and his expert assistant coaches used their exceptional knowledge and guidance to set an example of professionalism that is accentuated by their players on and off the playing field; and

AJR16,1,15 Whereas, Brett Favre was named the National Football League's Most Valuable Player for the 2nd consecutive year and led the most prolific offense in the NFL this season; and

AJR16,2,3 Whereas, Reggie White, the spiritual and emotional leader of the team, fostered a faith and attitude that helped the defense become the number one rated unit in the league; and

AJR16,2,6 Whereas, every Packer player on offense, defense and special teams contributed to the crusade that began with a belief that the team was destined to become world champions; and

AJR16,2,8 Whereas, Desmond Howard led the Packers' special teams and was named the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player; and

AJR16,2,11 Whereas, the team finished the regular season with a 13-3 record, the best record in the National Football Conference and won the most games in franchise history; and

AJR16,2,14 Whereas, at legendary Lambeau Field, the Packers were undefeated while playing in front of their loyal fans, who are known and respected as the most faithful in all of professional sports; and

AJR16,2,16 Whereas, the Packers won the Central Division in impressive fashion and were crowned champions of the National Football Conference; and

AJR16,2,19 Whereas, as Super Bowl Champions, the Packers deserve respect for their athletic achievements and accolades for the personal character they demonstrated while pursuing their goal; and

AJR16,2,22 Whereas, the players' chemistry with each other, the coaches, the administration and the fans is a reflection of the statewide community spirit that every sports franchise hopes to attain; and

AJR16,2,25 Whereas, the past season's accomplishments will strengthen the team's resolve to maintain the Packers' reputation as being the most successful and respected organization in the National Football League; now, therefore, be it

AJR16,3,6 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commends the Green Bay Packers' organization, team and fans, who have reestablished the proud tradition of the storied franchise and have brought joy and excitement to the entire state while proving once again that the Packers are not only Wisconsin's favorite team, but also America's team; and, be it further

AJR16,3,12 Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Green Bay Mayor Paul Jadin to be shared with the residents of the city of Green Bay, Packers' President Bob Harlan, General Manager Ron Wolfe, Coach Mike Holmgren and his staff of assistant coaches, the team's Super Bowl captains, the Director of the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame, and the President of the Green Bay Packer Fan Club (America's Pack).
