AJR26,1,1 Relating to: the life and public service of Clifford Chatterson.

AJR26,1,3 Whereas, Clifford W. Chatterson was born on February 4, 1915, in the Town of Fairchild, Eau Claire County, and died on October 21, 1996; and

AJR26,1,4 Whereas, Clifford served his community as a teacher for 7 years; and

AJR26,1,7 Whereas, Clifford was also active in the business community, serving as vice president of Uniroyal from 1940 1979 and working as a real estate agent for 10 years after his retirement; and

AJR26,1,8 Whereas, he served the City of Eau Claire as a member of the city council; and

AJR26,1,10 Whereas, he served Eau Claire County as a county board supervisor for 12 years, 10 of them spent as the county board chair; and

AJR26,1,14 Whereas, always trying to improve his community, he served on various state and local boards, including the Governor's Task Force on Mandates and the Governor's Blue Ribbon Highway Committee, and he was chair of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire President's Club; and

AJR26,1,16 Whereas, Clifford will be remembered as, firm but fair, honest and good-humored; now, therefore, be it

AJR26,2,4 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin express their gratitude for Clifford W. Chatterson's service to the City of Eau Claire, the County of Eau Claire and the State of Wisconsin; and, be it further

AJR26,2,7 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Mr. Chatterson's wife, Bertha, and to his son, Aaron.
