AR9,1,3 1Relating to: memorializing Congress to enact legislation to provide for a reduced
2rate of postage for certain mailings that are required to be made by local
3governments under state or federal law.
AR9,1,74 Whereas, H.R. 906, which is currently pending in the U.S. house of
5representatives, would reduce postal rates for local units of government for certain
6mailings required under state or federal law, such as property tax statements, mail
7to prospective jurors, child support checks and other documents; and
AR9,1,108 Whereas, if enacted, H.R. 906 would reduce the rate of 1st class letters mailed
9by local units of government, thereby resulting in substantial cost savings for
10Wisconsin counties and municipalities; now, therefore, be it
AR9,1,14 11Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature
12urge Congress to enact H.R. 906 to require the U.S. postal service to establish a
13discount presort 1st class postage rate for local governmental mailings that are
14mandated by state or federal law; and, be it further
AR9,1,16 15Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution
16to each member of this state's congressional delegation.
