AB273,1,3 1An Act to amend 945.05 (1) (b) of the statutes; relating to: legalizing the
2possession and transfer of antique slot machines used solely for display,
3restoration or preservation purposes.

Current law prohibits the manufacture, commercial transfer or possession,
with the intent to transfer commercially, of a device designed exclusively for
gambling purposes. This bill allows the commercial transfer and possession of slot
machines manufactured prior to December 31, 1974, and used solely for display,
restoration or preservation purposes.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB273, s. 1 4Section 1. 945.05 (1) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB273,2,45 945.05 (1) (b) Any device which he or she knows is designed exclusively for
6gambling purposes or anything which he or she knows is designed exclusively as a
7subassembly or essential part of such device. This includes without limitation
8gambling machines, numbers jars, punch boards and roulette wheels. Playing cards,

1dice and, permanently disabled gambling machines and slot machines
2manufactured before December 31, 1974, that are intended to be used solely for
3display, restoration and preservation purposes
shall not be considered devices
4primarily exclusively for gambling purposes.
