AJR75,1,32 Whereas, Merrill E. Stalbaum was born in the town of Norway on April 24,
31911, and died in Burlington on August 30, 1999; and
AJR75,1,44 Whereas, he graduated from Waterford High School; and
AJR75,1,55 Whereas, he was a farmer, land surveyor and public servant; and
AJR75,1,76 Whereas, Merrill Stalbaum served 30 years as clerk of the town of Norway and
7also served as a member of the Racine County School Committee; and
AJR75,1,98 Whereas, his election to the Wisconsin assembly in 1960 enabled him to join his
9brother, Senator Lynn Stalbaum, as a member of the Wisconsin legislature; and
AJR75,1,1210 Whereas, Merrill Stalbaum served on the Joint Committee on Finance, the
11Joint Committee for the Review of Administrative Rules and the Committee on
12Municipalities; and
AJR75,1,1413 Whereas, Merrill Stalbaum represented Racine County in the legislature from
141961 to 1973; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
2Wisconsin legislature salute the life and public service of Merrill E. Stalbaum; and,

AJR75,2,5 4Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk provide copies of this joint resolution
5to Merrill Stalbaum's son, John.
