AJR76,1,32 Whereas, the state of Wisconsin on behalf of the Wisconsin Coalition Against
3Domestic Violence proclaims October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month; and
AJR76,1,54 Whereas, October 1, 1999, is the National Work to End Domestic Violence Day;
5and
AJR76,1,76 Whereas, in conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, October 4,
71999, is being observed as the Day of Unity for victims of domestic violence; and
AJR76,1,118 Whereas, by observing Domestic Violence Awareness Month, National Work to
9End Domestic Violence Day and the Day of Unity, greater awareness of the incidence
10of violence in the home is furthered, focusing on the victims of domestic violence and
11their children who have suffered emotional and physical abuse; and
AJR76,1,1412 Whereas, through the inspiration, courage and persistence of victims of
13domestic violence, their children and advocates, legislation has been enacted to
14provide protection and services for those victims and their children; and

1Whereas, the achievements of those working to end domestic violence
2throughout the state and the nation, together with the continuing efforts of this state
3to assist victims of domestic violence, are to be commended; now, therefore, be it
AJR76,2,8 4Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
5Wisconsin legislature hereby proclaim October as Domestic Violence Awareness
6Month; October 1, 1999, as the National Work to End Domestic Violence Day; and
7October 4, 1999, as the Day of Unity in the effort to promote an awareness of the
8incidence of domestic violence; and, be it further

10resolution to Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
