AR38,1,2 Relating to: commending the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team on its recent WNIT tournament appearance and championship.

AR38,1,5 Whereas, the 1999-2000 University of Wisconsin women's basketball team has an excellent recruitment, training and coaching staff, including Head Coach Jane Albright; and

AR38,1,9 Whereas, the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team achieved its 4th 20-win season in the past 6 years and subsequently advanced to its 2nd consecutive WNIT championship final with a 78-60 win over Colorado State on Saturday, March 25, 2000; and

AR38,1,12 Whereas, the team won the WNIT championship game, on March 29, 2000, over Florida with a final score of 75-74, making it the first postseason title for the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team; and

AR38,1,15 Whereas, this is the 3rd straight year a Big Ten team has been a WNIT finalist and the 2nd consecutive year that the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team has participated in the WNIT tournament; and

AR38,2,2 Whereas, the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team has the 2nd highest RPI statistics and has played the 2nd strongest team schedule (25th); and

AR38,2,6 Whereas, the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team tied its own WNIT record for greatest winning margins with a 37-point victory over Fairfield and held its WNIT opponents to .349 percent from the floor, while hitting .461 percent; now, therefore, be it

AR38,2,11 Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the assembly of the state of Wisconsin commend and congratulate the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team for its hard work and dedication in advancing women's basketball to its highest level and share the pride of the citizens of the state of Wisconsin in their team achievement; and, be it further

AR38,2,13 Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution to Head Coach Jane Albright and each member of the team.
