2its recent WNIT tournament appearance and championship.
AR38,1,53 Whereas, the 1999-2000 University of Wisconsin women's basketball team has
4an excellent recruitment, training and coaching staff, including Head Coach Jane
5Albright; and
AR38,1,9 6Whereas, the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team achieved its 4th
720-win season in the past 6 years and subsequently advanced to its 2nd consecutive
8WNIT championship final with a 78-60 win over Colorado State on Saturday, March
925, 2000; and
AR38,1,1210 Whereas, the team won the WNIT championship game, on March 29, 2000, over
11Florida with a final score of 75-74, making it the first postseason title for the
12University of Wisconsin women's basketball team; and
AR38,1,15 13Whereas, this is the 3rd straight year a Big Ten team has been a WNIT finalist
14and the 2nd consecutive year that the University of Wisconsin women's basketball
15team has participated in the WNIT tournament; and

1Whereas, the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team has the 2nd
2highest RPI statistics and has played the 2nd strongest team schedule (25th); and
AR38,2,6 3Whereas, the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team tied its own
4WNIT record for greatest winning margins with a 37-point victory over Fairfield and
5held its WNIT opponents to .349 percent from the floor, while hitting .461 percent;
6now, therefore, be it
AR38,2,11 7Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the assembly of the state of
8Wisconsin commend and congratulate the University of Wisconsin women's
9basketball team for its hard work and dedication in advancing women's basketball
10to its highest level and share the pride of the citizens of the state of Wisconsin in their
11team achievement; and, be it further
AR38,2,13 12Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution
13to Head Coach Jane Albright and each member of the team.
