AR3,1,1 1Relating to: the life and public service of Stanley Lato.
AR3,1,32 Whereas, Stanley Lato was born in Thorp, Wisconsin, on November 2, 1924,
3and died in Stanley, Wisconsin, on April 10, 2002; and
AR3,1,54 Whereas, Stanley Lato served in the United States Navy during World War II;
5and
AR3,1,66 Whereas, he operated a dairy farm near Gilman for many years; and
AR3,1,97 Whereas, he demonstrated his civic-mindedness by being active in local
8government, serving as town supervisor, as town chair, and as a member of the
9county board; and
AR3,1,1110 Whereas, he was elected to the Wisconsin assembly and served in the 1975 and
111977 sessions; and
AR3,1,1412 Whereas, he served on the Agriculture, Commerce and Consumer Affairs,
13Health and Social Services, and Tourism committees, and was chairperson of the
14Retail Food Production Committee; and

1Whereas, while in the assembly, he successfully authored legislation creating
2an official identifying seal and associated quality standards for Wisconsin dairy
3products; now, therefore, be it
AR3,2,6 4Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin assembly salutes the fine
5service of its former colleague, Stanley Lato, and mourns his passing; and, be it
6further
AR3,2,9 7Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution
8to Stanley Lato's wife of over 50 years, Elaine; and to his children, Wayne Lato, Diane
9Taylor, Laura Logan, Jessica Lato, and Katherine Glicklich.
