AB21,1,3 1An Act to amend 1.10 (title) and 1.10 (4); and to create 1.10 (1m) of the statutes;
2relating to: designating "Oh Wisconsin, Land of My Dreams" as the Wisconsin
3state ballad.

Under current law, "On Wisconsin" is the Wisconsin state song, and the
Wisconsin Blue Book is required to include that information. This bill designates
"Oh Wisconsin, Land of My Dreams" as the Wisconsin state ballad and requires the
Wisconsin Blue Book to include that information.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB21, s. 1 4Section 1. 1.10 (title) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB21,1,5 51.10 (title) State song, state ballad, state dance, and state symbols.
AB21, s. 2 6Section 2. 1.10 (1m) of the statutes is created to read:
AB21,2,127 1.10 (1m) The Wisconsin state ballad is "Oh Wisconsin, Land of My Dreams,"
8music written by Shari A. Sarazin and lyrics written by Erma Barrett, the words to

1which are as follows: "Oh Wisconsin, land of beauty, with your hillsides and your
2plains, with your jackpine and your birch tree, and your oak of mighty frame. Land
3of rivers, lakes and valleys, land of warmth and winter snows, land of birds and
4beasts and humanity, oh Wisconsin, I love you so. Oh Wisconsin, land of my dreams.
5Oh Wisconsin, you're all I'll ever need. A little heaven here on earth could you be?
6Oh Wisconsin, land of my dreams. In the summer, golden grain fields; in the winter,
7drift of white snow; in the springtime, robins singing; in the autumn, flaming colors
8show. Oh I wonder who could wander, or who could want to drift for long, away from
9all your beauty, all your sunshine, all your sweet song? Oh Wisconsin, land of my
10dreams. Oh Wisconsin, you're all I'll ever need. A little heaven here on earth could

AB21, s. 3 13Section 3. 1.10 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB21,2,1714 1.10 (4) The Wisconsin Blue Book shall include the information contained in
15this section concerning the state song, ballad, dance, beverage, tree, grain, flower,
16bird, fish, animal, domestic animal, wildlife animal, dog, insect, fossil, mineral, rock,
17and soil.
