AB704,1,2 1An Act to create 14.16 (11) of the statutes; relating to: proclaiming Purple
2Heart Day.

This bill requires the governor to annually proclaim August 7 as "Purple Heart
Day" and urge people and organizations to display the American flag on that day as
a public expression of the recognition of those individuals who have been wounded
or killed in action preserving the freedoms that U.S. citizens cherish. Currently, the
governor may issue proclamations in remembrance of certain dates and persons,
including Armistice Day, Gold Star Mother's Day, and Citizenship Day.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB704, s. 1 3Section 1. 14.16 (11) of the statutes is created to read:
