AR30,1,2 1Relating to: the life, military service, and sacrifice of Marc Ian Nieto, of Fond du
2Lac, Wisconsin.
AR30,1,53 Whereas, Marc Ian Nieto is the son of Mrs. Sharon Priepke, of the state of
4Wisconsin, and graduated from Goodrich High School, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in
51994; and
AR30,1,86 Whereas, Marc Nieto joined the United States Navy as a Seaman Recruit, was
7promoted 5 times, and ultimately earned the title of Petty Officer 2nd Class,
8Engineman, serving on the USS Cole (DDG 67); and
AR30,1,129 Whereas, Marc Nieto served honorably as a U.S. Navy sailor aboard the USS
10Cole (DDG 67), and was 2 weeks short of finishing his 6-year Navy tour of duty, when
11suicidal terrorists attacked and bombed out the side of the USS Cole, on October 12,
122000, in Yemen; and
AR30,1,1513 Whereas, Marc Nieto will be remembered not only for his outstanding military
14service, but also for his concern for others, his integrity, his sense of humor, and his
15generosity to friends and family; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin assembly gratefully
2commends Marc Ian Nieto, who in the line of military duty paid the ultimate sacrifice
3for defending the principles of the United States of America; and, be it further
AR30,2,5 4Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution
5to Marc Ian Nieto's mother, Sharon Priepke.
