Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law authorizes the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin
System to offer paid sabbatical leave, funded by general purpose revenue, to
instructional faculty who have completed six or more years of teaching in the system.
This bill requires, instead, that paid sabbatical leave be funded by gifts and grants.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
