AB449,1,2 1An Act to create 70.32 (4) of the statutes; relating to: exempting an assessor
2and an assessor's staff from liability for trespassing.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a county surveyor and the surveyor's assistant who are
required to subdivide a section or smaller subdivision of land may not be held liable
as trespassers and are only liable for any actual damage done to land or property.
This bill provides a similar exemption from liability for trespassing for an assessor
and the assessor's staff who are engaged in official business.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB449, s. 1 3Section 1. 70.32 (4) of the statutes is created to read:
AB449,1,64 70.32 (4) An assessor and an assessor's staff who are engaged in official
