This bill directs the governor to annually proclaim February as African
American History and Cultural Heritage Month as a way to recognize and celebrate
the contributions and achievements of African Americans.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB771, s. 1 4Section 1. 14.16 (12) of the statutes is created to read:
AB771,1,85 14.16 (12) African American History and Cultural Heritage Month. The
6governor shall annually proclaim February as African American History and
7Cultural Heritage Month as a way to recognize and celebrate the contributions and
8achievements of African Americans.
