AJR72,1,73 Whereas, United States Army Staff Sergeant Warren Scott Hansen was born
4on May 2, 1967, at the United States Army Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany, and
5died on November 15, 2003, in Mosul, Iraq, as the helicopter that he served on as crew
6chief collided with another helicopter as they attempted to aid American soldiers;
7and
AJR72,1,108 Whereas, Staff Sergeant Hansen demonstrated courage at the young age of 15
9by rescuing a person who had fallen through the ice on Grass Lake near Clintonville;
10and
AJR72,1,1211 Whereas, Staff Sergeant Hansen graduated from Clintonville High School in
121986 and joined in the family tradition of serving our nation; and
AJR72,1,1513 Whereas, Staff Sergeant Hansen spent the next 17 years working with UH-1A
14Huey and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and eventually served in Operation Desert
15Storm, South Korea, Germany, Bosnia, Egypt, and Operation Iraqi Freedom; and

1Whereas, Staff Sergeant Hansen continued to contribute to the Clintonville
2community during his military career through his involvement with Saint Martin
3Lutheran Church and VFW Post 664; and
AJR72,2,54 Whereas, Staff Sergeant Hansen enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and
5loved to golf, hunt deer, ice fish, and water ski; and
AJR72,2,76 Whereas, Staff Sergeant Hansen made the ultimate sacrifice for his country,
7while advancing the cause of freedom for the Iraqi people; and
AJR72,2,98 Whereas, Staff Sergeant Hansen will always be remembered for his loyalty and
9duty and will never be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
AJR72,2,13 10Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
11Wisconsin legislature commend the life of United States Army Staff Sergeant
12Warren Scott Hansen, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their
13condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
AJR72,2,17 14Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
15resolution to Staff Sergeant Hansen's mother and stepfather, Beth and Jim Karlson
16of Clintonville; to his brothers, Matthew Hansen of Santa Ana, California, and Peter
17Karlson of Clintonville; and to his niece, Leah Karlson, of Clintonville.
