AJR75,1,43 Whereas, Tom Letko, a dedicated employee of the State Elections Board, passed
4away from unknown causes on Friday, September 5, 2003; and
AJR75,1,65 Whereas, Tom Letko worked for the State Elections Board for more than 8
6years; and
AJR75,1,87 Whereas, Tom began his work as a campaign auditor in June of 1995, and since
8the fall of 1999 Tom served as an elections specialist; and
AJR75,1,109 Whereas, Tom was committed to assisting people who contacted the board for
10information about the election process; and
AJR75,1,1311 Whereas, during the course of his work, Tom earned the respect and friendship
12of many local election officials, candidates for public office, and members of the public
13who contacted the Elections Board for information and assistance; and

1Whereas, the Elections Board often received written notes or telephone calls
2from agency clientele expressing appreciation for Tom's knowledge, patience, and
3assistance; and
AJR75,2,74 Whereas, Tom was also active in the community, serving in the Uptown
5Madison Toastmasters Club, where he had been president and recently completed
6a term as area governor and was serving as the vice president for education up to the
7time of his death; and
AJR75,2,98 Whereas, Tom Letko left behind his loving wife, Amber, and 6 wonderful
9children; now, therefore, be it
AJR75,2,13 10Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
11Wisconsin legislature honor Tom Letko for his dedicated service to the Wisconsin
12State Elections Board and to the people of the State of Wisconsin and send our
13deepest condolences to Tom's family during their time of need; and, be it further
AJR75,2,15 14Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall send copies of this joint
15resolution to his wife, Amber, and to the Elections Board.
