AR14,1,1 1Relating to: the life and public service of Gregory Blaska.
AR14,1,32 Whereas, Gregory D. Blaska was born on May 26, 1925, in the town of Sun
3Prairie, the son of John and Rose Blaska, and died Thursday, March 6, 2003; and
AR14,1,54 Whereas, Mr. Blaska married Laura Klein of Waunakee on September 11, 1948,
5and together they raised 4 children; and
AR14,1,86 Whereas, Mr. Blaska was given honorary recognition by the University of
7Wisconsin-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences in 1979, and named
8Master Agriculturalist in 1982; and
AR14,1,109 Whereas, Gregory Blaska was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary
10Catholic Church and served on the committee for the school's endowment fund; and
AR14,1,1311 Whereas, he was a charter member of the Sun Prairie Rotary Club and in 1982
12was named a Paul Harris Fellow — the highest honor bestowed by Rotary
13International; and
AR14,1,1514 Whereas, Mr. Blaska was elected to the Sun Prairie School Board and served
15as its president; and

1Whereas, Gregory Blaska was presently serving as state court trustee for the
2Catholic Order of Foresters; and
AR14,2,43 Whereas, Mr. Blaska worked tirelessly to improve the efficiency and
4effectiveness of farm cooperatives both locally and nationally; and
AR14,2,85 Whereas, Gregory Blaska was affiliated with the Dairyland Co-op, Pure Milk
6Association, Associated Milk Producers, Inc., Morning Glory Dairy, and Foremost
7Farms, in addition to serving as director to the National Milk Producers
8Organization and chairman of the World Dairy Expo for 31 years; and
AR14,2,119 Whereas, throughout his life Gregory Blaska's leadership and advocacy were
10instrumental in a wide array of civic and agricultural organizations; now, therefore,
11be it
AR14,2,15 12Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin assembly
13commend the devoted public service that Gregory D. Blaska contributed to this state
14and his community, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences
15to his family and friends; and, be it further
AR14,2,19 16Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution
17to Gregory's wife, Laura Blaska of Sun Prairie, and his children, John Blaska of
18Marshall, Jeffrey Blaska of DeForest, Margaret Howe of Rochester, New York, and
19Barry Blaska of Madison.
