AB1122,1,2 1An Act to amend 978.01 (2) (b) of the statutes; relating to: the Vernon County
2District Attorney and making an appropriation.

Under current law, the Vernon County District Attorney works part-time.
Under this bill, that position becomes a full-time position.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB1122, s. 1 3Section 1. 978.01 (2) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB1122,1,64 978.01 (2) (b) A district attorney serves on a part-time basis if his or her
5prosecutorial unit consists of Buffalo, Florence, Pepin, or Trempealeau or Vernon
6county.
AB1122, s. 2 7Section 2. Appropriation changes.
AB1122,2,48 (1) Full-time district attorney for Vernon county. In the schedule under
9section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of

1administration under section 20.475 (1) (d) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of
22005, the dollar amount is increased by $5,700 for fiscal year 2005-06 and the dollar
3amount is increased by $11,500 for fiscal year 2006-07 to increase the authorized
4FTE positions for the department by 0.1 GPR district attorneys.
AB1122, s. 3 5Section 3. Effective date.
AB1122,2,76 (1) This act takes effect on January 1, 2006, or on the day after publication,
7whichever is later.
