AB1145,1,2 1An Act to amend 15.405 (7) (b) 1. and 15.405 (7) (b) 3. of the statutes; relating

the Medical Examining Board.

Under current law, the Medical Examining Board consists of nine licensed
doctors of medicine, one licensed doctor of osteopathy, three public members, and a
nonvoting member who is the chairperson of the Injured Patients and Families
Compensation Fund Peer Review Council. Each member is appointed for staggered
four-year terms.
This bill changes the composition of the Medical Examining Board to include
six licensed doctors of medicine, one licensed doctor of osteopathy, six public
members, and the chairperson of the Injured Patients and Families Compensation
Fund Peer Review Council. The bill specifies that no public member may be licensed,
registered, permitted, or certified to provide health care services, items, or supplies
in this state, or to provide insurance to any health care provider or health care
facility.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
