AB329,1,2 1An Act to amend 15.165 (2) of the statutes; relating to: membership of the
2Group Insurance Board.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
The Group Insurance Board (board) currently consists of the governor, the
attorney general, the secretary of administration, the director of the Office of State
Employment Relations, and the commissioner of insurance (or their designees), and
five persons appointed by the governor for two-year terms. This bill adds a new
appointed member to the board; this new member must be either the chief executive
or a member of the governing body of a local unit of government that is a participating
employer in the Wisconsin Retirement System.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB329, s. 1 3Section 1. 15.165 (2) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB329,2,94 15.165 (2) Group insurance board. There is created in the department of
5employee trust funds a group insurance board. The board shall consist of the
6governor, the attorney general, the secretary of administration, the director of the

1office of state employment relations, and the commissioner of insurance or their
2designees, and 5 6 persons appointed for 2-year terms, of whom one shall be an
3insured participant in the Wisconsin retirement system Retirement System who is
4not a teacher, one shall be an insured participant in the Wisconsin retirement system
5Retirement System who is a teacher, one shall be an insured participant in the
6Wisconsin retirement system Retirement System who is a retired employee, and one
7shall be an insured employee of a local unit of government, and one shall be the chief
8executive or a member of the governing body of a local unit of government that is a
9participating employer in the Wisconsin Retirement System
