AB349,1,2 1An Act to amend 36.11 (3) (b) of the statutes; relating to: transfer of certain
2program credits within the University of Wisconsin System.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Board of Regents (board) of the University of Wisconsin
(UW) System must establish policies for the appropriate transfer of credits between
institutions within the UW System. This bill requires the board, within five years,
to ensure that all credits in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and
medical technology programs are fully transferable between institutions within the
UW System.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB349, s. 1 3Section 1. 36.11 (3) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB349,2,44 36.11 (3) (b) The board shall establish policies for the appropriate transfer of
5credits between institutions within the system, including the designation of those
6courses which shall be transferable between and within institutions without loss of

1credit toward graduation or toward completion of a specific course of study. The
2board shall ensure that all credits in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy,
3and medical technology programs are fully transferable between institutions within
4the system.

AB349,2,76 (1) This act first applies to the transfer of credits for the academic year
7beginning at least 60 months after the effective date of this subsection.
