AB859,1,3 1An Act to create 13.025 and 13.45 (8) of the statutes; relating to: prohibited
2meeting times of the assembly, senate, and legislative members of committees
3and other bodies.

This bill provides that the daily sessions of the assembly and senate and the
meetings of its committees end no later than midnight and prohibits the houses and
committees from meeting or conducting business between midnight and 8 a.m. The
bill also prohibits legislative members of committees and other bodies from meeting
or conducting business on such a committee or other body during that period.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB859, s. 1 4Section 1. 13.025 of the statutes is created to read:
AB859,1,8 513.025 Prohibited meeting times of the assembly and senate.
6Notwithstanding any rule of either house, the daily session of each house ends at
7midnight, unless adjourned earlier, and neither house may meet or conduct business
8during the hours between midnight and 8 a.m.

1Section 2. 13.45 (8) of the statutes is created to read:
AB859,2,102 13.45 (8) Prohibited meeting times of legislative committees and other
3bodies.
Notwithstanding any rule of either house, a meeting of a statutory or other
4assembly, senate, or joint legislative committee or other committee or body on which
5there are legislative members ends at midnight, unless adjourned earlier, and such
6a committee or body may not meet or conduct business during the hours between
7midnight and 8 a.m. Legislative members of such committees or other bodies may
8not be present at or participate in a meeting of or participate in the conduct of
9business by the committee or other body during the hours between midnight and 8
10a.m.
