This bill requires that, by January 1, 2007, the Department of Health and
Family Services submit to the legislature, including the Joint Committee on Finance
of the legislature, a report concerning prescriptions for drugs written by physicians
in fiscal years 2004-05 and 2005-06 for recipients of the Medical Assistance
Program or Badger Care.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB922, s. 1 3Section 1. Nonstatutory provisions.
AB922,2,44 (1) Report on physician prescribing practices under Medical Assistance. By
5January 1, 2007, the department of health and family services shall submit to the
6joint committee on finance and, in the manner provided under section 13.172 (3) of
7the statutes, the appropriate standing committees of the legislature a report that

1includes the following information for each physician who is a certified provider of
2Medical Assistance, concerning prescriptions written by the physician in fiscal years
32004-05 and 2005-06 for recipients of the Medical Assistance program or Badger
4Care:
AB922,2,65 (a) The percentage of the prescriptions written for generic drugs and the
6percentage written for nongeneric drugs.
AB922,2,87 (b) The number and percentage of the prescriptions that required prior
8authorization.
AB922,2,109 (c) Of the prescriptions written for drugs for which a generic drug was
10available, the number and percentage that specified a nongeneric drug.
