AJR1,1,1 1Relating to: the life and public service of Frank Fabiano Jr.
AJR1,1,42 Whereas, Frank Fabiano Jr. was born and raised in Kenosha, attending
3Kenosha grade schools and high school prior to entering the U.S. Marine Corps after
4graduation; and
AJR1,1,75 Whereas, upon his honorable discharge from the Marines in 1986, Frank
6returned to Kenosha and in 1989 began his career as a Kenosha County sheriff's
7deputy; and
AJR1,1,118 Whereas, on May 14, 1991, while on duty and before fire crews arrived, Deputy
9Fabiano entered a burning home in the town of Wheatland and rescued a
10four-year-old girl. For his selfless act of courage, he was awarded the department's
11Silver Star for Meritorious Service; and
AJR1,1,1512 Whereas, later that same year on August 12 while responding to a domestic
13disturbance call, Deputy Fabiano was shot at by the suspect with a high-powered
14rifle and suffered shrapnel wounds. For that incident, Deputy Fabiano was awarded
15the department's Purple Heart; and

1Whereas, the lights of Frank Fabiano's life were his loving wife Amy and
2daughter Angelina. Deputy Fabiano was known to his colleagues and friends as a
3kind, caring, and responsible man who enjoyed golfing and bowling with friends and
4family in his free time; and
AJR1,2,95 Whereas, while on duty on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, and during a traffic stop,
6Deputy Frank Fabiano sustained gunshot wounds that resulted in his untimely
7death at age 48. Frank Fabiano was a dedicated 18-year veteran of the Force, a great
8asset to the community, and a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend to
9many; now, therefore, be it
AJR1,2,14 10Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of
11the state of Wisconsin honors the memory of Deputy Frank Fabiano, recognizes his
12years of outstanding public service to a community grateful for his courageous life's
13work, and expresses deepest sympathy to his family and many friends for the loss
14of a community hero.
