and Hahn, cosponsored by Senators Lassa, S. Fitzgerald,

AB116,1,2 1An Act to amend 88.62 (1) of the statutes; relating to: increasing the public
2contract minimum bid requirements for drainage districts.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a drainage board may enter into contracts to have work done
in the drainage district. The drainage board is required to advertise for bids by
publishing a class 2 notice if the work to be done will cost in excess of $10,000.
Generally under current law, the drainage board is required to let the contract to the
lowest responsible bidder.
Under this bill, the minimum contract amount at which a drainage board is
required to advertise a bid by publishing a class 2 notice is increased from $10,000
to $20,000.
For further information see the local fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
