AB792,1,3 An Act to renumber and amend 38.24 (1m) (a); and to create 38.24 (1m) (a) 1. to 3. of the statutes; relating to: increasing fees at technical colleges for collegiate transfer programs.

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau

This bill increases the uniform fees charged for technical college collegiate transfer courses from at least 31 percent of statewide average operational costs for such programs to at least 42 percent in 2009-10 and to at least 50 percent in 2010-11 and thereafter. Collegiate transfer programs are offered at the Chippewa Valley, Madison, Milwaukee, and Nicolet technical colleges.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB792, s. 1 Section 1. 38.24 (1m) (a) of the statutes is renumbered 38.24 (1m) (a) (intro.) and amended to read:

AB792,2,3 38.24 (1m) (a) Liberal arts collegiate transfer programs. (intro.) Uniform fees based on not less than 31% the following percentage of the statewide average operational costs of liberal arts collegiate transfer programs in district schools.:

AB792, s. 2 Section 2. 38.24 (1m) (a) 1. to 3. of the statutes are created to read:

AB792,2,5 38.24 (1m) (a) 1. In the 2008-09 school year, 31 percent.

AB792,2,6 2. In the 2009-10 school year, 42 percent.

AB792,2,7 3. In the 2010-11 school year and in each school year thereafter, 50 percent.
