AJR42,1,76 Whereas, one in five workers in Wisconsin are directly employed in
7manufacturing; and
AJR42,1,98 Whereas, Wisconsin manufacturers pay among the highest wages and offer
9good benefits; and
AJR42,1,1210 Whereas, Wisconsin leads the nation in the manufacture of such diverse
11products as cheese, small engines, surface mining equipment, fire trucks, medical
12imaging equipment, and paper; and
AJR42,1,1413 Whereas, manufacturing creates economic growth that ripples through our
14economy, fostering job growth in other sectors of our state's economy; and

1Whereas, manufacturing represents a significant portion of the local economy
2in virtually every county in Wisconsin; and
AJR42,2,43 Whereas, $17.2 billion worth of Wisconsin manufactured products are exported
4to countries around the world; and
AJR42,2,65 Whereas, Wisconsin manufacturers are meeting the challenges of global
6competition through innovation and productivity gains; and
AJR42,2,87 Whereas, manufacturing provides exciting, high-tech career opportunities
8with excellent pay benefits; now, therefore, be it
AJR42,2,12 9Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
10Wisconsin legislature salute Wisconsin's manufacturers and their employees for
11helping build a stronger economy for our families, our communities, and Wisconsin's
12future, and proclaim May 2007 as Manufacturing Month in the state of Wisconsin.
