AJR86,1,32 Whereas, Dale J. Bolle was born on June 12, 1923, in Kossuth, Wisconsin, and
3died on December 12, 2007, in Manitowoc; and
AJR86,1,54 Whereas, Mr. Bolle graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1941;
5and
AJR86,1,106 Whereas, upon graduation, Mr. Bolle began a 26-year military career on
7February 25, 1943, with the 44th Army Division in Europe during World War II
8serving until November 1945; later serving in the Korean Conflict from January 17,
91951, until June 10, 1952; and finally serving in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1967
10where he retired as a captain; and
AJR86,1,1311 Whereas, Mr. Bolle earned many military medals, including the Purple Heart
12after being wounded in World War II, and the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster;

AJR86,1,1514 Whereas, Mr. Bolle married the former Ethelyn Junk on November 19, 1946;

1Whereas, the couple celebrated 61 years of marriage; and
AJR86,2,32 Whereas, Dale was the owner of Bolle Trucking Company for more than 30
3years; and
AJR86,2,54 Whereas, Mr. Bolle began his government career as a member of the Manitowoc
5County Board from 1970 to 1980, of which he was chairman from 1976 to 1978; and
AJR86,2,76 Whereas, Mr. Bolle was first elected to the Wisconsin assembly in 1982 serving
7in the 1983 through 1993 sessions; and
AJR86,2,108 Whereas, during his tenure in the legislature, Mr. Bolle was chairperson of the
9Veterans and Military Affairs Committee from the 1983 session through the 1993
10session; and
AJR86,2,1211 Whereas, Dale was proud of his work in helping to create veterans services
12programs; now, therefore, be it
AJR86,2,15 13Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
14Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that Dale J. Bolle
15contributed to this state and his community; and, be it further
AJR86,2,18 16Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
17resolution to Mr. Bolle's wife, Ethelyn, and his two sons, Wayne of Whitelaw, and
18Alan of Reedsville.
