SJR64,1,32 Whereas, Ronald G. Parys was born on October 7, 1938 in Milwaukee,
3Wisconsin and died on September 16, 2007 at his home in Englewood, Florida; and
SJR64,1,54 Whereas, Ronald G. Parys attended Messmer High School before graduating
5from Riverside High School, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and
SJR64,1,76 Whereas, Ronald G. Parys married and had 5 beautiful children, Todd, Brian,
7Cheryl, Lynn, and Dawn; and
SJR64,1,98 Whereas, Ronald G. Parys served in the Wisconsin state legislature from 1964
9to 1978; and
SJR64,1,1210 Whereas, Ronald G. Parys did industrial appraisal and assessment work prior
11to being elected to the state legislature. He continued to do appraisal work part-time
12and when the legislature was not in session; and
SJR64,1,1513 Whereas, Ronald G. Parys was a life long resident and devoted servant of the
14state of Wisconsin until he moved to Florida in 1996 after retiring as a legislative
15consultant for the Retail Grocers Association; and

1Whereas, while in the Wisconsin state senate, Ronald G. Parys was noted for
2sponsoring key bills, such as the state lottery, and promoting equality, fairness, and
3personal responsibility; and
SJR64,2,54 Whereas, during retirement, Ronald G. Parys remained interested in politics
5and was a member on the Punta Gorda Zoning Appeals Board; and
SJR64,2,96 Whereas, Ronald and his wife Dawne Albrecht-Parys continued to fund and
7operate an animal rights organization, Animals, Inc., with the goal of helping to
8sterilize cats and dogs. They also took in many abandoned cats, sheltering them in
9quarters at their own home; and
SJR64,2,1210 Whereas, Ronald G. Parys devoted his time to his family, enjoying life and
11always looking for that perfect restaurant or cruise with extraordinary cuisine; now,
12therefore, be it
SJR64,2,16 13Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
14Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service Ronald G. Parys
15contributed to this state and his community, express their sorrow at his death, and
16extend condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
SJR64,2,19 17Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution to
18Ronald G. Parys' wife Dawne, and his 4 surviving children, Brian, Cheryl, Lynn, and
19Dawn.
