Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, school districts that participate in the Special Transfer
Program (commonly known as "Chapter 220"), which allows pupils to attend public
school in another school district or in another attendance area within the same school
district in order to reduce racial imbalance, receive additional state aid.
This bill eliminates Special Transfer Program aid after the 2010-11 school year.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
