AB855,1,3 1An Act to amend 29.197 (3) of the statutes; relating to: authorizing the
2Department of Natural Resources to waive fishing license requirements for a
3weekend fishing event.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is required to
waive the requirements that a person fishing in the waters of this state have a fishing
license and pay the required fee for the license during one designated weekend each
year. This bill requires DNR to designate an additional weekend each year during
which the fishing license and fee requirements are waived. Under the bill, one of the
designated weekends must be in a winter month. As with the fishing weekend
designated under current law, the bill requires DNR to specify by rule to which
inland or outlying waters the waivers apply during the additional designated fishing
weekend.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB855, s. 1 4Section 1. 29.197 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:
