AB930,1,2 An Act to create 15.497 (2) (h) of the statutes; relating to: adding a member to the council on veterans programs.

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the Council on Veterans Programs (council) advises the Board of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) on solutions and policy alternatives relating to the problems of veterans. The council is attached to DVA and consists of members of various veterans organizations, all of whom are appointed for one-year terms.

This bill adds one representative of the Union Veterans Council to the council.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB930, s. 1 Section 1. 15.497 (2) (h) of the statutes is created to read:

AB930,1,4 15.497 (2) (h) One representative of the Union Veterans Council.

AB930, s. 2 Section 2. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB930,1,8 (1) Notwithstanding section 15.497 (2) (intro.) of the statutes, the term of the initial representative of the Union Veterans Council on the council on veterans programs shall expire on July 1, 2011.

AB930, s. 3 Section 3. Effective date.

AB930,2,3 (1) This act takes effect on first day of the 2nd month beginning after publication.
