AJR124,1,42 Whereas, Sgt. Ryan C. Adams of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, was born on
3December 7, 1982, in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and died defending our freedom in Logar
4Province, Afghanistan, in Operation Enduring Freedom on October 2, 2009; and
AJR124,1,75 Whereas, Sgt. Adams was deployed with the Wisconsin Army National Guard's
6951st Engineer Company (Sapper) in his second tour of duty following his first tour
7in Iraq from May 2003 to April 2004 with Company C, 724th Engineer Battalion; and
AJR124,1,108 Whereas, Sgt. Adams graduated from Rhinelander High School in 2001 where
9he was the Hodag Football Quarterback, played golf and baseball, and is
10remembered as a natural leader who inspired his teammates; and
AJR124,1,1511 Whereas, Sgt. Adams volunteered and served the Angel on My Shoulder
12nonprofit cancer support group that runs camps for children affected by cancer, visits
13cancer patients at hospitals and clinics, and provides weekend retreats for cancer
14caregivers and cancer survivors, further evidence of Sgt. Adams' compassion and
15commitment to others; and

1Whereas, Sgt. Adams' parents are Peter and Jalane Adams and his sister is
2Amanda Adams; Sgt. Adams is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins,
3many friends and fellow soldiers whose lives are richer because of him and his
4shining influence; and
AJR124,2,75 Whereas, Sgt. Adams loved serving his country and was an exceptional soldier
6who was incredibly proud of and valued his role in the Wisconsin Army National
7Guard; now, therefore, be it
AJR124,2,11 8Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of
9the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Sgt. Ryan C. Adams,
10mourns his death, and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and
11colleagues.
