AB256,1,3 An Act to create 20.445 (1) (ft) and 106.32 of the statutes; relating to: a grant to Milwaukee County to assist men of color in obtaining employment and making an appropriation.

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) administers various programs to assist individuals in obtaining employment. This bill requires DWD to provide a grant in the amount of $1,000,000 in each fiscal biennium to Milwaukee County for that county's task force on work reform for men to assist men of color in obtaining employment.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB256, s. 1 Section 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert the following amounts for the purposes indicated: - See PDF for table

AB256, s. 2 Section 2. 20.445 (1) (ft) of the statutes is created to read:

AB256,2,3 20.445 (1) (ft) Milwaukee county task force on work reform for men. Biennially, the amounts in the schedule for grants to the county of Milwaukee under s. 106.32.

AB256, s. 3 Section 3. 106.32 of the statutes is created to read:

AB256,2,9 106.32 Milwaukee county task force on work reform for men. From the appropriation account under s. 20.445 (1) (ft), the department shall provide a grant in the amount of $1,000,000 in each fiscal biennium to the county of Milwaukee for that county's task force on work reform for men to assist men of color in obtaining employment.
