AJR111,1,74 Whereas, Colonel Edward E. Metzgar and members from both the Wisconsin
5Air National Guard's 115th Fighter Wing and the 128th Air Refueling Wing,
6deployed in support of Operation Unified Protector as part of the 313th Air
7Expeditionary Wing; and
AJR111,1,108 Whereas, the 313th Air Expeditionary Wing supported Operation Unified
9Protector, a North Atlantic Treaty Organization-led mission in Libya to protect
10civilian-populated areas under threat of attack from the Gadhafi regime; and
AJR111,1,1311 Whereas, the 313th Air Expeditionary Wing served as a representation of a
12total force team that supported combat operations over Libya through the
13enforcement of United Nation's Resolution 1973; and

1Whereas, the 313th Air Expeditionary Wing, led by a significant amount of men
2and women "Flying Badgers," from the great state of Wisconsin, played a significant
3part in the fall of dictator Muammar Gadhafi; and
AJR111,2,84 Whereas, men and women from both the 115th Fighter Wing and 128th Air
5Refueling Wing led a team of a variety of airmen from units in the Nebraska, Utah,
6Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona, Tennessee, and Iowa Air National Guard as well as
7units from Grissom, MacDill, McConnell, Grand Forks, Fairchild, Travis, McGuire,
8Seymour-Johnson, and Scott Air Force and Air Reserve Bases; and
AJR111,2,129 Whereas, the 313th Air Expeditionary Wing, along with its other North
10Atlantic Treaty Organization operational counterparts, including the United States
11Navy, Marine Corps, and allies, were responsible for the protection of thousands of
12Libyan civilian men, women, and children; now, therefore, be it
AJR111,2,15 13Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature
14hereby recognizes the men and women of the Wisconsin Air National Guard's
15contribution to Operation Unified Protector.
