AJR13,1,1 1Relating to: commending law enforcement officials for keeping order at the capitol.
AJR13,1,42 Whereas, over the course of the last two weeks there have been hundreds of
3thousands of state taxpayers exercising their first amendment rights at the capitol
4in a civil manner; and
AJR13,1,85 Whereas, the magnitude of the rallies have undoubtedly presented numerous
6logistical challenges to Capitol Police, University of Wisconsin-Madison Police, the
7Madison Police Department, Wisconsin State Troopers, DNR officials, and other
8public safety officials from across Wisconsin; and
AJR13,1,119 Whereas, through their coordinated efforts, public safety officials have helped
10maintain an orderly and secure environment for capitol staff, Wisconsin residents,
11and legislators, and their work has helped keep the protests peaceful; and
AJR13,1,1412 Whereas, public safety officials have worked long shifts to keep the peace and
13protect the rights of protestors to peacefully assemble to petition their government
14for a redress of grievances; and

1Whereas, public safety officials involved in maintaining order in the capitol
2have conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism, and continue to do so
3in light of the unprecedented numbers of state residents attending rallies in the
4capitol; now, therefore, be it
AJR13,2,9 5Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
6Wisconsin legislature commend all public safety officials for their tireless efforts in
7service to the people of Wisconsin and express their gratitude for the orderly and
8professional manner in which they have handled the large-scale taxpayer
9demonstrations in the capitol.
