AJR132,1,1 Relating to: recognizing career and technical student organizations.

AJR132,1,3 Whereas, career and technical student organizations (CTSO's) are a vital part of Wisconsin's rich public education tradition; and

AJR132,1,7 Whereas, there are many participating CTSO's in Wisconsin, including the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), DECA, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Wisconsin Future Farmers of America (FFA), and the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA); and

AJR132,1,9 Whereas, over 40,000 students and 800 chapters have participated in CTSO's in a single year; and

AJR132,1,11 Whereas, these programs help to develop the future business and civil leadership of Wisconsin through community service and competitive activities; and

AJR132,1,13 Whereas, involvement in CTSO's promotes academic and civic engagement, self-efficacy, and employment skills in participating members; and

AJR132,2,3 Whereas, CTSO's provide invaluable resources and time to charities statewide, including raising over $80,000 in support and donating over 15,000 hours in volunteer efforts; now, therefore, be it

AJR132,2,7 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature applauds and encourages leaders to support the efforts of career and technical student organizations in developing the future leaders of Wisconsin; and, be it further

AJR132,2,9 Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to participating career and technical student organizations.
