AJR5,1,43 Whereas, Reince Priebus was born on March 18, 1972, to Richard and Dimitra
4Priebus and was raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin; and
AJR5,1,75 Whereas, Reince Priebus' earliest political aspirations began in third grade at
6Pleasant Prairie Elementary School where he was the self-appointed manager of
7Ronald Reagan's presidential bid; and
AJR5,1,98 Whereas, by age 16 Reince Priebus began volunteering for political campaigns
9and graduated from George Nelson Tremper High School in 1990; and
AJR5,1,1210 Whereas, Reince Priebus obtained a bachelor's degree in political science and
11English in 1994 from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he was student
12body president; and
AJR5,1,1513 Whereas, Reince Priebus worked in the Wisconsin Legislature for a year and
14then went to law school receiving a law degree from the University of Miami School
15of Law in 1998; and

1Whereas, during law school he clerked for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, the
2Supreme Court of Wisconsin, the United States District Court Southern District of
3Florida and interned for the NAACP legal defense fund. He also served as the copy
4editor for Res Ipsa Loquitur, the journal of the University of Miami School of Law,
5and was a member of the University of Miami Business Law Review; and
AJR5,2,76 Whereas, Reince Priebus was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 1998 and joined
7the law firm of Michael Best and Friedrich LLP in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and
AJR5,2,118 Whereas, Reince Priebus' first date with the woman who became his wife was
9at the Kenosha County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner where representatives
10Henry J. Hyde of Illinois and James F. Sensenbrenner Jr. of Wisconsin were
11delivering keynote speeches; and
AJR5,2,1312 Whereas, Reince Priebus married his wife Sally in 1999 and they currently live
13in Kenosha, Wisconsin, with their two children Jack, six, and Grace, almost one; and
AJR5,2,1614 Whereas, the Milwaukee Business Journal recognized Reince Priebus as one
15of Milwaukee's Forty under 40, class of 2008, and Super Lawyers named him a
16"Rising Star"; and

182004 which led him to serving as the treasurer and later being elected chairman of
19the Wisconsin Republican Party in 2007; and

21Committee Chairman Michael Steele in 2009; and
AJR5,2,2422 Whereas, on January 14, 2011, Reince Priebus was elected the 65th chairman
23of the Republican National Committee after seven rounds of balloting; now,

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
2legislature commends Reince Priebus on his election as chairman of the Republican
3National Committee and wishes him success in his new role.
