AJR86,1,2 1Relating to: the life and service of First Lieutenant Daren Miguel Hidalgo of the
2United States Army who lost his life during Operation Enduring Freedom.
AJR86,1,53 Whereas, on February 20, 2011, Lieutenant Hidalgo, of Waukesha, Wisconsin,
4a member of Troop G, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, died as a result
5of wounds received during enemy action in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan; and
AJR86,1,86 Whereas, Lieutenant Hidalgo was a student of Kettle Moraine Middle School
7and Kettle Moraine High School, where he wrestled and was a member of the school
8band; and
AJR86,1,13 9Whereas, Lieutenant Hidalgo provided faithful and honorable service to the
10people of the state of Wisconsin and the people of the United States, as well as
11continuing a family military tradition by being commissioned as an officer in the
12United States Army on May 23, 2009, and proudly serving his tour of duty in
13Afghanistan; and

1Whereas, Lieutenant Hidalgo made his family, his friends, and his country
2extremely proud of his courage and bravery as he made the ultimate sacrifice in
3service to his nation in fighting for the cause of freedom; and
AJR86,2,54 Whereas, Lieutenant Hidalgo was laid to rest in West Point, New York, on
5Monday, March 7, 2011; now, therefore, be it
AJR86,2,9 6Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of
7the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of First Lieutenant Daren
8Miguel Hidalgo and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and
9colleagues; and, be it further
AJR86,2,12 10Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
11resolution to Daren Hidalgo's parents, Jorge and Andrea Hidalgo, and to his siblings,
12Jared Hidalgo, Miles Hidalgo, and Carmen Spellman.
