Transportation.
AB66,1,2 1An Act to amend 341.05 (20) of the statutes; relating to: the vehicle
2registration exemption for amphibious motor vehicles.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, certain vehicles operated on the highway are not required
to be registered with the Department of Transportation. These vehicles include
amphibious motor vehicles capable of carrying at least ten passengers when the
vehicle is used for sight-seeing purposes, registered as a boat with the Department
of Natural Resources, and operated on a highway for a distance of not more than two
miles.
This bill allows this vehicle registration exemption to apply to amphibious
motor vehicles that are operated on a highway for a distance of not more than five
miles, rather than two miles, if they otherwise meet the criteria described above.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
