2of the statutes; relating to: eligibility for a license to carry a concealed weapon
3for a member of the U.S. armed forces stationed in Wisconsin.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Justice may not issue a license to carry
a concealed weapon to an applicant who is not a resident of Wisconsin. Under this
bill, an applicant who is stationed in Wisconsin for at least one year while in active
service in the U.S. armed forces is eligible for a license if otherwise qualified.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

5amended to read:
AB740,1,66 175.60 (3) (f) (intro.) The individual is not a one of the following:
AB740,1,7 71. A Wisconsin resident.
AB740,2 8Section 2. 175.60 (3) (f) 2. of the statutes is created to read:

1175.60 (3) (f) 2. An individual who is in active service in the U.S. armed forces
2and is stationed in this state for at least one year.

AB740,2,54 (1) This act first applies to an application for a license submitted on the effective
5date of this subsection.
