AJR33,1,53 Whereas, Andrew was born on August 28, 1986, in Green Bay, to Douglas and
4Nicole Steiner, and died on February 2, 2013, outside of Green Bay, of injuries he
5sustained while assisting at the site of a motor vehicle crash; and
AJR33,1,76 Whereas, Andrew was a 2004 graduate of Bay Port High School in Green Bay,
7Wisconsin, and was a student at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College; and
AJR33,1,108 Whereas, Andrew proudly joined the United States Army on August 16, 2006,
9and served tours overseas in Kuwait, from August 2007 to May 2008, and
10Afghanistan, from May 2011 to June 2012; and
AJR33,1,1311 Whereas, Andrew was promoted to the rank of sergeant on December 1, 2011,
12and embodied the Army's core values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor,
13integrity, and personal service; and
AJR33,2,614 Whereas, Andrew received numerous military awards, including the following:
15the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Army Commendation

1Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Army Reserve
2Component Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global
3War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal,
4the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 2, the Army
5Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal,
6and the NATO Medal; and
AJR33,2,97 Whereas, Andrew was the beloved son of Douglas and Nicole Steiner, brother
8to Samantha DuBois, brother-in-law to Joshua DuBois, uncle to Emma DuBois,
9brother to Kevin Armstrong, and brother to Lyssa Steiner; and
AJR33,2,1210 Whereas, Andrew will be sorely missed, but his memory will live on: he will
11forever be remembered as having passed away the way he lived — serving others;
12and
AJR33,2,1413 Whereas, his sacrifice and service to others are an example to us all; now,
14therefore, be it
AJR33,2,18 15Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of
16the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Andrew C. Steiner and
17extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues; and, be it
18further
AJR33,2,20 19Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
20resolution to Andrew's parents, Douglas and Nicole.
