AB503,1,4 1An Act to amend 753.06 (4) (a), 753.06 (6) (k), 753.06 (7) (e), 753.06 (9) (g), 753.06
2(9) (L), 753.06 (10) (f) and 753.06 (10) (i) of the statutes; relating to: adding a
3circuit court branch in Calumet, Wood, Marathon, Dunn, Polk, Jackson, and
4Vilas counties and making an appropriation.

This bill adds one additional circuit court branch for Calumet, Wood, Marathon,
Dunn, and Polk counties, effective August 1, 2016, and one additional circuit court
branch for Jackson and Vilas counties, effective August 1, 2017.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB503,1 5Section 1. 753.06 (4) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB503,1,76 753.06 (4) (a) Calumet County. The circuit has one branch. Commencing
7August 1, 2016, the circuit has 2 branches.

21, 2016, the circuit has 4 branches.

23County shall be at the spring election of 2016 for terms commencing August 1, 2016,

17circuit judge positions on August 1, 2016, to be funded from the appropriation under
18section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide 5 circuit court judges for the circuit
19court branches created by this act in Calumet, Wood, Marathon, Dunn, and Polk
20counties.
AB503,3,2521 (9) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 5.0 GPR
22court reporter positions on August 1, 2016, to be funded from the appropriation
23under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide 5 court reporters for the circuit
24court branches created by this act in Calumet, Wood, Marathon, Dunn, and Polk
25counties.

1(10) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 2.0
2GPR circuit judge positions on August 1, 2017, to be funded from the appropriation
3under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide 2 circuit court judges for the
4circuit court branches created by this act in Jackson and Vilas counties.
AB503,4,85 (11) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 2.0
6GPR court reporter positions on August 1, 2017, to be funded from the appropriation
7under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide 2 court reporters for the circuit
8court branches created by this act in Jackson and Vilas counties.
AB503,9 9Section 9. Fiscal changes.
AB503,4,1310 (1) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation
11to the director of state courts under section 20.680 (2) (a) of the statutes, as affected
12by the acts of 2015, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2016-17 is increased by $12,000
13to establish a law library for each circuit court judge in the state.
